Got a new search engine, search tool, search utility or something else search-related that you think may be of interest to Search Engine Watch readers? This page will help you understand how to get coverage.
PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE PAGE.
DOING SO WILL INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF GETTING COVERAGE.
Articles, Blog & Forums
Most things in Search Engine Watch revolve around the site's articles and blog. If your service is covered in one of these, then it will usually be integrated into an appropriate place within the site.
The Search Engine Watch Blog tends to focus on new things that we can cover briefly. If you've just launched a new service or added a new feature to an existing service, the blog will be the fastest route to getting coverage.
In contrast, the SearchDay newsletter tends to provide more in-depth coverage on new things. This will often involve doing an actual interview with you well ahead of time. Search Engine Watch also publishes articles on the site that don't run in SearchDay. These also often involve interviews ahead of time.
Our story editors will decide what we feel is the best way to approach your story and provide coverage. The form below will send your item to the editorial staff for assignment, if warranted. If interested, one of them will come back to you for further details.
Finally, the Search Engine Watch Forums is also another route for getting news out about a new article, product or unique service (just saying you offer SEM services in general is not unique, so don't post things like that).
If you want to put something out for public comment, this should go specifically into the Beta Test area of the forums. Please read the posting FAQ before adding a thread.
Dos and Don'ts
When contacting us, please do not send attachments that are over 50K in size, such as large Word documents, PDF files or PowerPoint presentations. If you have such files, tell us after making contact and send them only if we agree.
If you have a software product that you want reviewed, we'd be happy to take a look at it and possibly include it within the site. Our main request is that you provide a full, working copy. We like to see how something works over a long period of time, and trial versions expire too quickly to allow this type of evaluation.
Summary Description
If you have a new service, please send us summary information: the name of the service or site, the URL and a two or three sentence description, along with anything else you care to tell us about it. This will help us more easily include the site in our coverage. Please don't fill this summary information with marketing hype. Look at how we list things throughout Search Engine Watch and try to match our style. If you do so, it is more likely we'll be able to use your information without heavy modification.
Search Engine Watch Pages
Search Engine Watch also has many pages of content that are updated independently of blog and article coverage. If you see a page on which you would like to appear, let us know via the form below. Again, include summary information as described above.
Search Engine Links Category
Search Engine Watch has a Search Engine Links area, which lists the various search engines available by category. This is not designed to be a comprehensive list of every search engine. The best way to get listed here is to get covered in an article or blog post. In addition, it helps if you can indicate the exact category in which you think your site should reside.
