Google announced that starting this week we will start to see mobile ad performance metrics in Google Analytics. A new visual toggle is being added to all AdWords reports, showing “All”, “High-end Mobile” and “Tablet” ads. The new Analytics feature can be segmented by these new mobile and tablet dimensions.
One thing to note about this new feature is that it will only be available in the new Google analytics interface.
As more users are moving toward mobile and the use of tablets and mobile devices these reports will give businesses more insight on what their customers need and want.
Additionally, Google announced that email scheduling and PDF export functionality are coming to the new interface. These changes are expected to roll out over the next couple weeks.
Standard and custom reports will all have the email scheduling option:
Clicking on the “EMAIL” button pulls up the following email scheduling dialog:
In the above email preview, Google shows some of the improved features that they will be releasing over the next couple weeks. We’ll let you know once it’s officially been released.
All scheduled emails will have to be set up in the new interface due to all old interface being phased out early next year. If you haven’t switched over, going now will give you more than two months to get used to the new interface.
“The old Google Analytics interface as well as all existing scheduled emails will be sunset starting in January 2012,” Phil Mui of the Google Analytics team wrote on the Google Analytics Blog. “We believe that the new Google Analytics interface provides significant advantages over the old version, including access to Real Time Analytics, Multi-Channel Funnels, Social Plugin Analytics, & Flow Visualization. And hope you’ll find enough value in these new features that you’ll switch to the new version well before then.”
