Mobile Movie Searches

A mobile search (from iOS or Android devices) that features a movie-centric key term will now bring a new element into the search results: a movie info scrollbar. This feature is placed at the top of the SERP and gives basic movie information (including on the actors and plot), movie reviews, the movie poster, a quick link to the trailer, and even the option to buy tickets right from your smartphone.

For any movie where tickets are purchasable through Fandango, the showtime will be linked to that mobile-optimized ticket purchase page. My attempt to test purchasing capabilities on my Android (an Evo) led only to error messages; let me know if you experience the same.

Tablet Image Carousel

Those who use their iOS or Android tablet device to hunt down pretty, pretty pictures can now do so in a more visually rich environment. The “carousel view” that just launched gives users more thumbnails, larger thumbnails, faster browsing, a higher-resolution gallery view, infinite scrolling, and optimized navigation.
