Bing Ads to Simplify AdWords Campaign Import Process With Upgraded URLs

Bing Ads will adopt Upgraded URLs in an effort to help advertisers migrate their ad campaigns from AdWords to Bing.

By early May of this year, Bing Ads will roll out two updates to support Upgraded URLs. The first update is to the Google Import feature in both Bing Ads Web UI and Bing Ads Editor. This change only impacts advertisers who want to import their AdWords campaign data into Bing Ads, according to the company.

When advertisers transfer their campaigns from Google AdWords, Bing Ads will reconstruct a Destination URL that the platform can understand, by using existing AdWords tracking templates (at the account, campaign, ad group, and entity levels) and URLs (both Final URL and Final Mobile URL).

The table below explains how Bing Ads will handle Destination URLs, Final URLs, and Final Mobile URLs during Google Import.

The second update is the support of new dynamic text placeholders in Bing Ads Destination URLs. Bing Ads will support the following dynamic text placeholders in Destination URLs:

Bing says Upgraded URLs will have great impact for tool providers and its API partners. More details on this new feature will be available in the upcoming months.
