D'oh! Fox.com the Latest to Block Content From Google TV
First Hulu. Then NBC, CBS, and ABC. Now Fox has joined in the effort to block content from Google TV devices.
Trying to watch a show on Fox’s website with a Sony Google TV or the Logitech Revue set-top box returns a message of “This content is not compatible with your device.” Fox has been considering blocking content in late October after the other networks began blocking shows from their site.
Google was supposedly in negotiations with the other three broadcasters last month, but no deal has been reached yet.
“It’s not unheard of when there’s a new technology that a lot of incumbents in the space are trying to to find out what that technology means for them,” said Google TV executive Rishi Chandra at a conference yesterday.
