There will be five finalists and one winner per state. From the 50 state winners, Google will find five national finalists and the lucky national winner. In addition, the winner will be featured on a special edition of a Crayola 64-crayon box.

It’s simple to enter. Your child must draw up a version of the Google logo, which if picked as the winner, will appear May 18 on Google’s homepage, and seen by millions of people. The winning child will also receive a $30,000 college scholarship and $50,000 technology grant for their school.

Participants must complete their drawing and entry form on the Doodle 4 Google website by March 20.

Contest judges will be singer Katy Petty, recording artist and former “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks, Google employees, as well as several other industry judges.

All 50 state winners will be put up for a public vote on May 2. All 50 state winners will be flown to NYC for the National Awards ceremony on May 17 and all winners be displayed in the New York Public Library.

Last year’s Doodle 4 Google contest had 107,000 entries. Last year’s Doodle 4 Google winner dreamed of being an astronaut.
