Microsoft Bing appears to be testing a new square-box layout for its local search results on desktop. The test changes the way business listings and their action buttons are displayed.
I spotted this variation while checking Bing search results. In the new layout, the local results appear in a square-shaped box, with action buttons such as ‘Website’ and ‘Directions’ positioned below the business listing. This differs from the usual layout, where these buttons are aligned to the left.
Here is a screenshot of the new layout.

Here is how the local results usually look.

I captured both versions using the same search query, which makes the layout differences easier to compare.
It is unclear whether this is a limited test or whether Bing plans to roll it out more widely. Microsoft has not announced any changes to the desktop local pack design.
